I just wrote a long post about all of the bands and stuff that I saw at ACL Fest, but it all got erased. I don't have the energy to retype it right now, but suffice it to say that the festival was really good. Lots of friends were there, and the music was great. It was a little warm and dusty, but we perservered, and the music was worth it.
The Saturday night afterparty was also fun. Thanks to all of you who came (especially Killer Kraber and Rami)! Thanks for the elf cupcakes and queso, Rami!

I am soooo tired, and I have a lot to do this week. New job coming up! Yikes!

So I broke down and signed up to Steanso's little technocracy....
I tried posting this yesterday to no avail.

Wife and I were supposed to fly into A-town for ACL Fest (Sunday shows), as well as Ma Palka's b-day bash.
Sadly, we were scheduled to fly into Hobby, and the airport shut down.
I am still livid that I missed: F.Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Decemberists, Kaiser Chiefs, (+/- Coldplay and Wilco). If anybody has any feedback on those gigs, wants ta know.
Somebody needs to schedule these natural disasters so that I am not inconvenienced.
Also missed Larry Lee Thweatt, Houston evacuee....

I am now hooked on Lost.

Recent CD purchases which are highly highly recommended:
1. Andrew Bird- The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Former Squirrel Nut Zipper violn virtuoso.
2. Iron & Wine/Calexico- freakin brilliant.
I can burn copies if you are interested, Steans.

Anyway, back to curing cancer.

Sweep the leg,

Apologies for the redundant posting. I thought yesterday's was lost in cyberspace.

Hopefully the Arcade Fire will make it to Nashville soon
(all the rednex in doublewides chortle).

I hear Bauhaus is back on tour.
I saw them in Dallas in a bowling alley/auditorium (!!!) in '98.
There's something you don't see every day...goth kids and the bowlers.
At some point these bands just need to retire. Bela Lugosi's Dead was cool in '81. If you don't have any new material, keep the coffin closed......
