Just a quick note. Neal Hefti, the composer who was responsible for writing the theme songs to several notable television series, has died at the age of 85. Why is this worthy of mention? Well, Hefti wrote the theme song to the old Batman TV show. Growing up, my mom (who was generally pretty anti-TV) used to let me watch reruns of the Batman TV show, and she used to plunk down toddler Ryan in front of the TV with me. As a result, my brother's first word was an enthusiastic "Batman!", which we typically shouted out at the television at the appropriate point during the Batman theme song. So, Mr. Hefti, thanks for teaching my brother to talk. Without you he would probably just be a big, dumb, slobbering mute.
