leprechauns, green beer, and the floating birthday

For those of you who don't know, Steanso's birthday falls on Saint Patrick's Day. This day has always fallen on March 17th (for as long as I've known). Today, though, Victoria, one of my coworkers, informed me that Saint Patrick's Day isn't officially on the 17th this year. Because of conflicts with Holy Week, it's being officially celebrated by the church on the 15th. Being the cynical leprechaun that I am, I immediately called bullsh*t on this, but upon cross referencing Victoria's claim against Wikipedia (the world's most universal and unquestionable repository of all human knowledge), I actually discovered her claim to be true. I don't know how many people will go along with the change, but the Vatican has moved St. Patrick's Day to the 15th this year, an act which hasn't occurred since 1940 (and since it's a holiday founded for a saint, I guess the Vatican gets the final word, at least officially). The good news is that the 15th falls on a Saturday, while the 17th is a lame old Monday, so I'm seriously considering moving my birthday to the 15th as well this year (after all, I wasn't just born on the 17th- I was born on St. Patrick's Day). Everyone get out your calendars and make the appropriate changes.

Well, I'm not sure yet, Diva, but I'll let everyone know as soon as I've figured it out!
